How accurate is the conversion?

Accuracy is high for digitally-generated PDFs and lower for scans. The engine reconstructs text, headings, tables, images and multi-column layout so the output closely matches the original. PDFs created by software such as Word, browsers or design tools convert most faithfully, while scanned or image-only PDFs have no underlying text to extract. Heavily designed layouts may need a few minutes of manual touch-up.

Can I convert a scanned PDF?

You can upload one, but the editable-text result will be limited. A scanned PDF is an image with no stored text, so the converter places the image into the output rather than extracting words from it. For fully editable text you need a PDF that was generated from software and contains real text. PDF2Word does not run OCR on scanned images.

Can I convert only some pages?

Yes. When you upload a file you can enter a start and end page, and only that range is converted. This is handy for pulling one chapter or section out of a large document and for staying within your plan's page limit. Leave the range blank to convert the entire file.
